Sleepy Driver presents: Northeastern Chorus

Throughout their years as a band, Sleepy Driver has had the good fortune to work with so many talented people: singers, songwriters, and players who either shared a bill or came to contribute to projects as a result of mutual friendships. It was common practice for Sleepy Driver to invite guests onstage, as they loved the infectious energy it could inject into performances. It was during these times that the concept of a “Sleepy & Friends” album took hold. And now, it has been realized as “Northeastern Chorus.”

Northeastern Chorus features songs by Sleepy Driver members Peter Hicks and John Heinstein, Juanita Bourque (Sissy and the Hobos) and Clinton Charlton (Bonnett House, Jessica Rhaye and the Ramshackle Parade), and includes over a dozen guest performances from members of notable New Brunswick acts. Over the past couple of years, like scientists in a secret basement lair, Hicks and company have stirred up an 11-track album containing styles and sounds and influences that cover alt-country to bluegrass to blues rock.

Northeastern Chorus is not a Sleepy Driver album. It’s a collaboration. It’s like-minded musical spirits celebrating community and creativity.
